Bentonville was established in 1836 and became the first county seat for the state of Arkansas. Rich in history and culture for the State of Arkansas. Its downtown square is full of historic buildings that tell the history of Bentonville.
Wal-Mart's International Headquarters are located here and has really put this town on the map! In 1945 Sam and Bud Walton began a variety store in downtown Bentonville making it the birthplace of Wal-Mart. Today the original 5 & 10 variety store has become the famous Wal-Mart Visitors Center.
